Second Open Academy Davos, August 7-16, 2009
Wissensstadt Davos organizes the Second Open Academy Davos for students
in the period August 7 to 16, 2009 in collaboration with the University
of Cologne Medical Faculty and the Swiss Tropical Institute in Basel.
The topic of the meeting is: Malaria and the challenges of coordinating
medical foreign aid: Reality and future perspectives.

Academia Raetica strengthens collaboration with the Canton of
the Grisons
In March 2009, the Academia Raetica signed a performance agreement
with the "Amt für Höhere Bildung" with the purpose
to support the Canton of the Grisons in the development of the legal basis
for university-based research and education and to strengthen the research
activities within the Canton altogether.

First public Symposium of the Academia Raetica
The first public Symposium of the Academia Raetica was held on November
2, 2007 in Chur. The subject “Medicine and environment” offered
the opportunity for most of the associated institutions to give one or
more presentations, which resulted in a very stimulating event.

Young scientists in contest (YSC) 27.-28.8.2008
Young scientists in contest (YSC), August 27 - 28, 2008 in Davos,
a joint venture of the Science City of Davos, Academia Raetica and the
Education Department of Grisons.
In conjunction with the International Disaster Risk Conference (IDRC)
young scientists from the Grisons region were invited to compete by giving
oral or poster presentations in separate auditorium. Over 40 excellent
contributions were received and the jury had a hard time to select the
best for the attractive prizes.

The Founding of the “Association
Academia Raetica” took place in the Town Hall in Davos on
June 6, 2006.
